Mark Lewis

Director of Media & Sport

Mark joined Stripes in 2009 as Director of Media and Sports. He brings to Stripes nearly 20 years of experience dealing with all matters relating to reputation, privacy and media.

Mark’s involvement in the media is both in front of and behind the cameras. Available to comment on all matters from Press intrusion to changes in the law, Mark is a member of the Law Society’s Defamation Reference Group and enjoys Higher Rights of Audience, enabling him to appear as a Solicitor-Advocate in any civil court.

Both non-contentious and contentious matters are dealt with providing expertise that was hitherto not available in Manchester, Mark is looking to capitalise on the coming of Media City which brings the world of entertainment to the centre of football.

Whether giving evidence to the Media Select Committee at Parliament or appearing in consecutive editions of Private Eye, Mark has made a name for himself as a vigorous defender of his client’s interests.

Whether your case is high profile or low key, Mark will act for you in the same determined way, in order to get you the best result possible. Innovative actions include the pursuit and success of the “phone-hacking” cases, which emanated from Mark’s idea. Throughout his career, Mark has approached each problem as if it was new and therefore not fallen into the trap of repeating the steps that have been taken before.
