Head of Industrial Disease
Brian heads up the Industrial Disease Department at Stripes. He qualified in 1991 and has extensive experience in all aspects of personal injury and disease litigation mainly dealing with more complicated cases including complex high value claims, catastrophic injury and brain injury cases.
Brian recently secured a £2million settlement for a young man who sustained serious injuries which resulted in bilateral amputation of both legs in a road traffic accident. He has also secured a six figure settlement for a young man who sustained significant psychiatric injury arising from a road traffic accident.
In two of his more recent brain injury claims, Brian represented a young man who sustained serious brain injury arising from a road traffic accident and also dealt with a clinical negligence claim arising from alleged failure to diagnose and timeously treat a brain tumour.
Brian’s extensive experience in all aspects of disease claims, includes asbestos related injury claims, vibration induced injuries/work related disorders, dermatitis claims and noise induced hearing loss claims.
Brian has secured significant settlements for many clients who have suffered industrial disease, including recently securing £130,000 settlement for a young man who had developed vibration induced carpal tunnel syndrome.
Brian also has an interest in travel law and has successfully pursued claims for clients arising out of injuries sustained in accidents abroad. Most recently, he has successfully obtained damages for two clients who were injured in a skiddu accident in the French Alps.
Brian has been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel continuously since 1994 and is an accredited APIL Senior Litigator.
He gained a post graduate diploma in Personal Injury Litigation in 1993-1994, the paper he submitted meriting a distinction.
