Mobile Phone Application for security

Posted by Stripes on April 30, 2010 (Investment Opportunities)

Background: Funding is sought for a new start-up business that owns the intellectual property rights for a unique and innovative device which allows homeowners to communicate with visitors to their front door using their existing mobile phone from anywhere in the world.

The patented product has a number of other uses and functions, examples of which are listed below:

  • Enhancing home security by capturing and storing images of all visitors to the front door and wirelessly integrating with original security devices. These devices can be controlled remotely by the user via their existing mobile phone;
  • Encouraging energy saving by allowing homeowners to control devices around the home from anywhere in the world. Original equipment manufacturers are already integrating wireless communication technology into many of their products, enabling remote control through devices such as this;
  • Communicating with and managing visitors to homes of the elderly, infirm or vulnerable. For example, door locks can be remotely operated so that expected deliveries etc can be managed.

The device consists of an external and internal unit. The external unit contains a microphone and camera which is easily installed by the user close to the front door of the property and communicates with the internal unit via Bluetooth technology. The portable internal unit allows users to see and speak to visitors via their mobile phone through the mobile phone networks.

Funding is required to finalise product development and launch the products into the UK, European and worldwide markets.
