Manchester law firm Stripes welcomes another senior lawyer to its Corporate and Commercial team

Posted by Stripes on June 4, 2009 (Business, Press Releases)

Manchester law firm Stripes made another strategic appointment to its growing corporate and commercial team with the addition of commercial litigator, Tony Winterburn.
Tony has joined from JMW Solicitors where for the last three years he was head of commercial litigation.
Before JMW, Tony spent more than 20 years at DLA where latterly he was a partner. He has particular expertise in disputes arising under sale and purchase agreements, including breach of warranty claims, as well as corporate and business litigation including boardroom and shareholder disputes.
Tony also has great experience of injunctions, including freezing and search orders. In particular, he has acted on many occasions as supervising solicitor on search orders, and has much experience in disputes arising from insolvency situations – an area which he says is set to rapidly increase over coming months as a result of the recession.
While many firms have been forced to downsize, Stripes believes now is the right time to expand, and is confident that its strategy of having a team, each with experience in specific areas but working together as one, will meet the legal requirements of today’s owner managers and entrepreneurs.
Andrew Stripe, Head of Stripes, says: “The addition of Tony to our corporate and commercial team will further enhance the services to our client base of owner-managed businesses.
“We appreciate that clients want their affairs handled by senior and experienced lawyers that charge realistic rates, and in today’s marketplace we believe our strategy will serve them and the firm well in the future.”
Tony added: “I’m delighted to join Stripes at a time of ambitious expansion. There are few firms that are looking ahead and it is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-disciplined team that can offer clients the full package of corporate and commercial legal services.”
